Elisabeth (Boever) Gideon

Where she served as a FOCUS missionary:

Elisabeth served as a missionary at the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign, IL) during the 2002-2003 school year.  She served as the Campus Director during the 2003-2005 school years.  Elisabeth completed her fourth year at the University of Illinois as a missionary in 2005-2006.

What she’s up to now:

Elisabeth was married to Joshua Gideon in the summer of 2005.  They were blessed with a baby girl, Ruth Marie born in June 2006 and welcomed their second child, John Benedict, in the summer of 2007.  Joshua is working full-time at Benedictine College as the FOCUS Campus Director.

 How FOCUS impacted her life:

“In my time with FOCUS, I have learned many valuable life skills and lessons.  Through my missionary work, I feel better equipped to incorporate my faith in my everyday situations.  I have been building the virtue of sharing the Gospel with the few around me and building them up.  I will start with our first child and seek to raise a holy family with my husband, Joshua.  I have seen lives transformed through their interaction with the Gospel.  Many students have more joy and zeal for life after learning what Jesus Christ and His Church have to offer.  I am confident that God has a plan for me to continue to share the Gospel with the community that I am now a part of.  Sharing the Gospel does not end in leaving FOCUS, but rather FOCUS has built a foundation in my prayer life that I am more confident in embracing the faith and teaching it to others, as I leave to start a family.” ~Elisabeth Gideon
