Announcing 2008 Summer Mission Trips!
May 12th - June 18th
Approximate Cost: $3000
We will spend 3 weeks working alongside the Missionaries of Charity in Kolkota (formerly Calcutta), India and end on pilgrimage to either the tomb of St. Thomas the Apostle or St. Francis Xavier. We will have the opportunity to join the sisters in Mass and their daily Holy Hour at the Mother House and to pray daily at the tomb of Blessed Mother Theresa. We will be serving in the homes where she originally began her ministry to the poor of the world and may also have the opportunity to visit the Leper Colony at Titagarh and to attend the Final Profession of Vows of the Missionaries of Charity. This trip is demanding and not for the faint of heart. While it will be an intense immersion among the poor it will also be an incredible opportunity to grow in our spiritual lives.

July 7th -27th

Two separate pilgrimage groups will travel to Spain to walk this centuries old pilgrimage route. This pilgrimage will be more than your ordinary trip as we seek to deepen our spiritual lives, embrace Catholic community, serve one another and live as prayerful witnesses to other pilgrims. This trip will be very physically demanding and requires the participant to be in very good physical condition. All applicants must be willing to commit to a pre-trip training program that will begin this spring.
July 12th - 28th
Cost: $2200
We will spend the first week on mission in the small village of San Luis Potosi helping to build a Catholic Church. Afterwards, we will travel into Mexico City on pilgrimage to the basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The blend of mission and pilgrimage will allow us to gain a true perspective of Catholicism in Mexico while working and praying alongside the poor. Keep checking the website for updates! Toronto - women only
July 11th - July 28th
Cost: $1200
This group of women will spend two weeks working alongside the Missionaries of Charity in Toronto. During the day, the ministry will be to refugee children from war torn countries around the world. In the evenings, you will be volunteering at a soup kitchen that serves the homeless.
July 5th - July 25th
Cost: $3800
FOCUS will be traveling to France this summer in celebration of the 150th anniversary of Our Lady's apparition at Lourdes. Pope Benedict has named 2008 a Jubilee Year in honor of the anniversary, and we plan to join in the excitement! On the way, we will visit other Catholic pilgrimage sites in France, including the Chapel of the Miraculous Medal, Sacre' Coeur, Lisieux, Nevers, and Ars. As we walk where the saints have walked, we will discover the importance of pilgrimage in the Christian life, as we are all on a pilgrimage toward our Heavenly home. We will also learn about prayer and experience its central place in the walk of every disciple of Jesus Christ.
